Artist's Description
Earths Treasures by Genevieve Esson. Original is SOLD. Created in 2006. This piece was inspired by nature and found objects. It has a story behind it, but I am leaving it up to the viewer to come to their own conclusion. One day I was jogging in Forest Park near a pond and saw 3 water lilies lying at different placces on the grass. They all had intersting shapes and inspired me to do this painting. I had other cool objects, nature and manmade I incorporated into the work. It all came together somehow. The finishing touches were the ocean waves lapping up on all four sides. The pine cones also have a story behind them, but that was so long ago, only a distant memory. This piece was very detailed. The ocean waves on the sides were created with plaster of paris. This is a multimedia piece with acrylic paint. I look back and wish I had kept it. So much effort and care, but I am glad the art patron loved it so much they haggled me to sell it it to them. #lilypads #stilllife #earth #treasur...
