SOLO EXHIBIT Multimedia The Diversity Of Trees - Art

Third Degree Glass Factory, 5200 Delmar Blvd., St. Louis, MO. May 19th - June 13th. Visiting hours are Mon. - Sat., 10am - 5pm In this exhibit I created a collection of tree art in various multimedia. My concept for the show is to bring attention to the environment and the beauty of and appreciation of trees. The majority of the media in my art has been upcycled, using leftover materials from around the house, recycable material or items I have collected over the years. The whole idea is to rethink, reuse and make beauty out of trash. I would like to flag and open peoples eyes to being mindful about recycling and upcycling everyday throwaway materials. I embraced a variety of materials and incorporated them in my multimedia paintings, encompassing them with paint and texture, bringing a new life and meaning to their form. I am amazed by the variety of artworks I designed by gathering from these various articles. Some pieces I spent quite awhile trying to come up with an answer or an end result. Other pieces just took root and bloomed like crazy. I want to open the viewers eyes to our urban landscape, inspire and focus attention to trees, nature and the accumulating garbage. What can we do with this stuff? Make it into treasure. Beautiful recycled tree art to invigorate and motivate the senses. Hey, don’t throw that away! Use your imagination. You can make it into beautiful art! Save a tree! The journey has been fun. Thank you! ~Genevieve Esson
