Description
This is one in a series of Fleur De Lys paintings I have created this summer. The Fleur De Lys/ flower-de-luce is a stylized lily (in French, fleur means "flower", and lis means "lily") that is Nused as a decorative design or motif, and many of the Catholic saints of France, particularly St. Joseph, are depicted with a lily. It's also used on the St. Louis Missouri flag and is a popular motif throughout the city. You can say it's a St. Louis thang.
