The fleur-de-lis is a stylized lily that is used as a decorative design or symbol (in French, fleur means "flower", and lis means "lily"). The Fleur de lis became commonly used "at one and the same time, religious, political, dynastic, artistic, emblematic, and symbolic", especially in French heraldry.
This piece is created with modeling paste and acrylic paint on wood.
Genevieve Esson has a B.A. in Painting from Webster University, an award winning artist, her work is collected regionally and internationally. Esson is a painter and multi media artist.
