The inspiration for this piece was color, line and movement. I am a huge fan of the Fauves. When I was in college, one of my instructors used to call me a Fauve, because of the many colors I used in my figure drawings. In this piece I wanted to convey the different ways light can change the mood of colors and how they can reflect on a person and their interior surroundings. i am very aware of how different lighting can have positive and negative effects. In this piece especially it was meant to be whimsical and fun. I like the energy of this piece. Casual, but with movement and a charming aura. The media is watercolor crayon and charcoal. I scratched into the piece and reworked it to get the different color combinations and textured throughout the artwork.
Genevieve Esson has a B.A. in Painting from Webster University, an award winning artist, her work is collected regionally and internationally. Esson is a painter and multi media artist. She has completed over 25 Public Art Projects. Her main medium is acrylics. She participates and exhibits her artwork at fairs, festivals, gallery shows, coffee houses, hospitals, restaurants and LIVE art events. She has an extensive working artist history.
